The Four Ball pairings for the opening day of the 2013 Gateway Cup Matches have been set. The respective Captains introduced Sunday’s pairings via Twitter.  Skip Berkmeyer (@SBerkmeyer) and Brett Moomey (@BretskyPGA) will once again lead their respective teams in the annual showdown of the area’s best amateurs and top professionals.

Recent weather has made it difficult for many to get on the golf course this spring and that includes the golf professionals competing in the Gateway PGA. Section Professionals were in Lake Ozark, MO today for the Central Missouri Classic Pro-Open at The Cove Course at the Lodge of the Four Seasons.

It may seem like the same old names are once again leading the way and that’s for good reason. It is the same old names. Bob Gaus, JC Anderson, Brian Fogt, Mark Faulkner, Nash Haxel and Kevin Triefenbach have been staples atop Pro-Open leaderboards over the years. If today’s Pro-Open is any indication, 2013 could very well present more of the same.

Gaus took home the top prize of $600 after a 3-under, 68 which featured 4 birdies and one bogey. JC Anderson was the only other player in red numbers finishing at 1-under despite making 5 birdies on the day.

Brian Fogt and Mark Faulkner tied for 3rd at Even. Adam Betz, Nash Haxel and Justin Auping finished 4 shots back at +1.
