Missouri Leads at Junior Girls Four State Championship

Round one of the Junior Girls Four State Championship is in the books and the team from Missouri holds a dominant lead with 18 holes to play.

Teams from Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas convened in Manhattan Country Club in Manhattan, KS for this 36 hole team competition.  Each team consists of five Juniors with the low four scores counting each day towards their team score.

Missouri posted a team score of 303, led by a pair of 74’s from Jordan Chael and Amanda Kim.  WingHaven Country Club’s Brooke Cusumano posted 75 to go with Jean Tyrrell’s 80.

Defending Champion, Iowa, trails Missouri by 23 shots entering day two of the competition.  Jessie Sindlinger fired 75 to lead team Iowa.

Haley Thiele led team Nebraska with a first round 74 to tie for low individual score of the day. Nebraska posted a team score of 333.

Kansas was the only team to not have a player break 80. Brittani Jenson led Kansas with 84 who posted a team total of 349.
